As a Coach, what do you look for in a Player to make your team? As a Parent,/Player what do you look for in a Coach or team before choosing who to play for?

As a parent, I look for a coach and staff to be fair, I don't like coaches having favorites, too many times you get asst coaches who have no clue or have kids on the team and play in spots they should never be at, a lot like daddyball, there are some teams who do have dads as coaches and are very fair, I've have been on teams where the coaches had no clue of what to do next, kind of sad when your paying all the money to have your kid learn. but I m looking for a coach who will help my kid get better..

As coaches we look for kids who have a good base to work with and that will work at their game outside of practice. At 16U they must be a polished player and the reputation of the family is very important. One set of bad parents can ruin a team chemistry.
As parents you should be looking for a coach that doesn't promise you anything but being as fair as possible. If a coach promises you the world be ready for a very rocky experience.
