Women coaches in Illinois
I really have a lot of respect for women coaches, here in Illinois we have some of the best around say what you want about them, but in the end its about the girls and the game they love and how to coach the girls to bring out the best in them!
I want to start of with Christina and Sarah Douglas (CSD) Orland park A's 16u- these coaches are the real thing! not only did they have a wonderful season last year winning 3 top tournaments in a Row, including Metros in Chicagoland and qualified for ASA and PGF Nationals, whatever it is, they produce results and the kids love them, with the Twin sister's being Standouts @ DePaul University in their college days and formally coaching with the Beverley Bandits before coming over to the A's to join Liz Bouck-Jagielski also a stand out at DePaul who is now the GM for the Orland Park A' s. The Douglas sisters are hard working coaches day in and day out and get my respect and should get yours, their style of coaching is awesome, look out for these GALS, don't forget they also both coach at the HS level.
Kathy Young(Bull/Sox), wonderful describes what she brings to Chicagoland softball and also a commenter here on ILsoftball.com, what she has done with the Bulls/Sox Academy, is unreal, taking it and turning it to one of the top Clubs to want to play for in IL and the Midwest. She works hard everyday to a high Standard that younger coaches should learn from,. look to see more from her right hear on ILsoftball.com
(Taylor Made Softball), Venus Taylor along with Sam and Angela Findlay are bringing something new to our area, something Venus is very proud of, check our link to her home page, Venus being a former Chicago Bandit coach and Player and a product of IL Softball . with the Findlay's being standouts at Michigan, also as being some of the best Hitters around ,they too bring a fresh style to the softball fields, the kids love these girls. watch out for them in 2014.
Jenny Tyrell (Beverly Bandits) 16U JT, she is intense, fresh off of winning the PGF national in Cali this past summer ,she is a site to watch with her coaching style, much respect for her what Bill Conroy is doing with his club.
I don't want to miss names like Mo Homan (formally Lemont Rockers Didi) now with the New Lennox Lightning Gold 18U ,this lady is awesome to watch and see her coach, a true teacher of the game, nothing but good things from her .
Also Names to watch out for are Laura Harms, with her new Club The Legends out of the Kankakee area.A former Chicago Bandit and a teacher and Student of the Game.
I cant forget Suzie Rzegocki former Lemont Rocker ,Purdue standout coached with the Bulls/Sox,coached at Boston University last year and now assisting at ASU with that program , what a wonderful young lady
Also Michelle Batts also a former Lemont Rocker ,a Northwestern Standout and if not the best left handed hitter even to attend NW University, no fence can hold her back, coached at North Carolina and now at Lincoln Memorial University.
I know I missed some names but our list will keep growing , the point I wanted to get across is that women coaches are great for the game ,they are no longer taking a back seat to the men coaches,(no disrespect)but lets face it, they played the games ,put in the work, who better to coach our future than those who have already experienced what our young girls are striving for!!
