What is your hydration strategy? Hydration begins 2 days before competition. Athletes should drink 80-100 oz of water daily. Here are a few hydration tips for game and tournament play: -No caffeine on competition day -Drink 4 oz of water every 15 minutes of play -You do not need sports drinks if you are playing for less than 3 hours -Water only before lunch during tournaments -Drink half water and half sports drink (not mixed) between lunch and dinner -Drink one bottle of water and 2 sports drinks after dinner -Remember to drink more water on cold days!!! Maintaining body temperature during cold games requires more internal process. Water is a byproduct of those process and you will need to frequent restroom more.
