The cost of travel Softball.


Being a dad of a travel a softball player , I come across across a lot of fees just like everyone else. team fees, Gas fees, hotel fees, airline fees, food fees, bats ,gloves, lessons and so on.


Ive talked to tons of parents and they all say the same thing its cost money to play at a higher level, don't get me wrong I agree, but a lot of these people I talk to cant afford it and they are stretched beyond their means. most of the parents said the same thing to me, do we really have to go that far to play the same teams that are in our back yard? and I agree, to drive to another state and play the same teams you just played the week before in your area doesn't really make that much sense. being from IL I feel we host some great tournaments here and we continue to grow and we attract a lot of outside schools and teams .and to be a cold weather state we compete at a high level, I'm at a lot of games ,I put countless time, effort and sacrifice in to have my kid play the sport she loves,I have dealt with so many personalities in coaches, parents ,umps, tournament directors etc, And guess what? they all think they are right, to each their own. I know this is business , and I do love to travel, I guess all i can say to the parents , you have to what's best for your family and your pocket book! but at the end of the day ,its all about the kids. just my 2 cents .
