Everything you eat can be categorized as Protein, Carbohydrates, and Fats. A Calorie is not a food - it is a energy value attached to the food you eat! Knowing and understanding Protein, Carbohydrates, and Fats that make up your diet is the only way to achieve your nutrition goals whether it be lose weight, gain muscle, gain energy, or just want to live a healthy life! Your body NEEDS Protein, Carbohydrates, and Fats to perform vital functions and eliminating one of these groups can damage your body.
GOOD vs. BAD Eat from the GOOD 80% of the time and BAD 20%
Protein GOOD : lean meat, nuts, beans, fish Protein BAD : fatty meat, processed protein powders
Carbohydrate GOOD : whole grains, fruit, vegetables Carbohydrate BAD : sugar, candy, processed foods, sugary beverages
Fat GOOD : Fat from fish and nuts, olive oil, avocados Fat BAD : Animal fat in red meat, fried food, processed food
