Hi Coaches,
I’m hoping everyone has settled in with their new teams and have had a great start to their 2014-2015 travel ball season. I’m happy to announce that PGF is having its first Annual PGF Midwest Regional Kickoff meeting on November 30th, at Noon-2:30PM at Naperville Country Club, located at 25W570 Chicago Avenue, Naperville, IL Tel 630.355.6015
The purpose of this meeting is to inform all travel ball coaches of the 2015 PGF National Qualifiers, not only in the Midwest but throughout the country, as well as to announce PGF Regional/Future Qualifiers, PGF Showcases and PGF Future Camps and Clinics geared towards grass roots development. I also would like to introduce all the key individuals that help grow, develop and maintain PGF throughout the Midwest, including PGF State Directors and PGF Future Directors.
This meeting will also include nationally recognized motivational speaker, Brian Cain, who will speak about what it takes to ‘Be a Champion Mentally.’ You’re more than welcome to video tape his speech for your team/organization. Brian has spoken with some of top men’s and women’s team in the country including Alabama, Oregon and Arizona St. among many others. Brian has published numerous books on related subjects. You can find out more at www.briancain.com .
The PGF Midwest Region will also be announcing a value added service for all families in need of financial assistance for college. The PGF Midwest Region has a unique opportunity to provide our families with valuable information about strategic planning for college. Planning for college is complex – especially when you’re working with athletes who have ambitions to play at the collegiate level. Thrivent Financial, a non for profit, religious based investment firm, www.thrivent.com/aboutus/privacy/logo.html would like to help develop a college search and selection strategy that covers all 4 years of high school to make the transition to college smoother. The PGF families should understand:
· Tips about FAFSA and its importance to your family
· What are COA,OOP,EFC and need-met and gift-aid ratios?
· How do you incorporate the NCAA Eligibility Center into your college search and selection strategy?
Inga Theeke, CCPS,FIC, has been with Thrivent for 11 years. She became a Certified College Planning Specialist to help families like ours navigate what has become one of the largest investments we make at what could also be very exciting and challenging time of life. The PGF Midwest Region has partnered up with Thrivent because their model supports the parents and student throughout the process. It’s important that families provide a college education for their children without sacrificing other financial goals or burdening their children with too much debt. You should start these conversations as early as grammar school.
Total Control Sports, www.totalcontrolsports.com will be present to giveaway some free promotional product to some lucky coaches and will be available for those coaches that need to order or purchase training balls/whiffles at discounted prices.
